Using Settlers

These terms are an agreement between you and the business named on this page for the Settlers service at settle.rs. By using the service, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13 and meet the minimum age required where you live. If you are not old enough to enter this agreement yourself, a parent or guardian must agree and supervise your use.

Your account and privacy

Keep your sign-in details secure and provide an email address you can access. You are responsible for the activity you authorize through your account. Contact us if you think someone else has gained access.

Our privacy policy explains the information needed to run the service. We do not sell personal information or use third-party tracking. You can change your name visibility and delete your account at any time through Account settings. Deleting an account also removes its membership; shared game history and records required by law may remain as described in the privacy policy.

Treat people fairly

Do not harass people, publish someone else’s private information, impersonate others, cheat, or deliberately disrupt the service. Use automation and research agents through the features intended for them, and respect other players’ table settings. Report security issues privately using the contact address below.

Your content and game records

You keep any rights you have in content you submit. You give us permission to store, display, and process it only as needed to run the service, support shared games and replays, and conduct the strategy research described in our privacy policy. This permission does not let us sell your personal information. Only submit content you have the right to share.

What lifetime membership means

Lifetime membership is a one-time payment for access through your account for as long as we operate the Settlers service. Lifetime refers to the operating life of this service. It does not promise that the service will run forever or for the rest of your life.

There are no recurring membership charges. If we introduce subscriptions, existing lifetime members keep access without paying those subscription fees. Features may change as the service develops. Membership remains subject to the same fair-play rules as every other account.

The price and currency are shown before payment, which is handled by Stripe. For an incorrect charge or a refund request, contact us so we can review and resolve it fairly. These terms do not limit any cancellation, refund, or other consumer rights you have under applicable law.

If the service has to close

If we permanently discontinue the hosted service, we will make the service code we own open-source under a license that allows the community to use, modify, and run it. We will publish the repository location through the site or a shutdown notice, with the instructions we can provide for running it.

Personal information, account records, credentials, and other people’s private content will not be included. Third-party code and assets remain subject to their own licenses. An open-source release lets others continue the project, but does not guarantee free hosting, continued maintenance, or that another operator will run a replacement service.

We will give advance notice of a planned permanent closure where reasonably possible. This commitment does not replace any refund or other remedy required by law.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep Settlers useful and reliable, but outages, bugs, maintenance, and changes can happen. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, or takes away mandatory consumer protections.

When access may be restricted

We may restrict an account to protect other players, investigate abuse, meet legal obligations, or address serious or repeated violations of these terms. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to respond. You can contact us to ask for a review. Paying for membership does not excuse harmful behavior.

Changes and questions

We will post updated terms here and give notice of material changes through the service or email before they take effect where reasonably possible. Changes will not retroactively remove the lifetime-access and open-source commitments attached to an existing purchase. If something goes wrong, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You retain any right to seek help from a regulator or court.
